Rajesh John’s Journey Beyond Limits to the Olympia

Limitations may change the way we move, but they should never decide how far we can go.

Rajesh John stands as a powerful example of this belief. An Indian professional wheelchair bodybuilder and fitness trainer from Kerala, his journey is not defined by the wheelchair he uses, but by the determination, discipline and ambition that have taken him to some of the biggest bodybuilding stages in the world.

Who Is Rajesh John?

Rajesh John is a professional wheelchair bodybuilder from Kerala who has represented India at major national and international bodybuilding championships.

Born to Ummarapallil M.D. John and Omana John in Thazhathuvadaku, Kollam district, Rajesh completed his education at Holy Trinity School, Thiruvananthapuram, and later earned a diploma in electronics and computer networking from NSS College, Pathanamthitta. Today, alongside his competitive career, he works as a fitness trainer and runs his own gym at Enathu in Pathanamthitta district.

But what truly distinguishes Rajesh is what he has achieved through bodybuilding.

Turning Challenges Into Strength

For many, a wheelchair can appear to represent restriction. Rajesh chose to see beyond it.

Bodybuilding gave him a platform to transform physical challenges into strength, confidence and purpose. Through years of disciplined training and competition, he continued to push himself beyond expectations and gradually progressed from competitions in Kerala to representing India internationally. His achievements speak for themselves.

Rajesh became a multiple-time Mr. Kerala and Mr. India champion, won the WFF Mr. World title for the differently abled in 2016, and later added the WFF Eurasia Championship to his international achievements. But even bigger stages were waiting.

Making History for India

In 2024, Rajesh John created history by becoming the first Indian to win the Arnold Classic Pro Wheelchair title in Columbus, USA. One year later, he returned and successfully defended the title at the 2025 Arnold Classic Pro Wheelchair, becoming a two-time champion. He has also represented India on the prestigious Mr. Olympia Pro Wheelchair stage, finishing 6th in 2024, 3rd in 2025 and 5th in 2026.

These achievements represent far more than positions on a results sheet. They represent years of preparation, sacrifice and the decision to continue moving forward regardless of circumstances.

The Message Behind His Journey

Rajesh John’s story carries a message that reaches far beyond bodybuilding.

A limitation does not have to become an identity.

Life may change unexpectedly. The path someone imagined for themselves may disappear, and circumstances may force them to begin again. But beginning again does not mean beginning with less potential. Sometimes it means discovering a completely different kind of strength.

Rajesh did not wait for his circumstances to become easier before pursuing something extraordinary. He worked with the life in front of him, developed his abilities and continued raising his goals. From India to international competitions, from the Arnold Classic to Mr. Olympia, every stage became proof that progress is possible even when the path looks different. Bodybuilding celebrates physical strength, but Rajesh John’s journey represents another kind of strength too.

The strength to adapt.
The strength to continue.
The strength to believe.
And the strength to dream bigger.

His achievements can inspire athletes, people living with disabilities and anyone facing circumstances that make their goals seem distant. The message is not that every challenge is easy to overcome.

The message is that a challenge does not automatically decide what comes next.

Beyond Limits

Rajesh John has won major titles and stood on some of the world’s most prestigious bodybuilding stages. Yet perhaps the most powerful part of his journey is the example he leaves for others. His story asks us to look differently at limitations. Not at what is missing, not at what has changed. But at what can still be built from where we are today.

Rajesh John’s journey reminds us that the strongest limits are often the ones we decide to challenge.

And his journey is still moving forward.
